Benjamin Terry · Founder & CEO · West Orange, NJ

Benjamin Terry founded The Covenant Golf Society because he saw a gap that resumes and networking events could not fill: a room where high-level executives could gather with faith as the floor, brotherhood as the bond, and the game as the place where trust is actually built.

Golf has long been the boardroom outside the boardroom, where partnerships form, capital moves, and relationships deepen over eighteen holes. Benjamin’s conviction is simple and firm: that room should be open to men of character who lead at the highest levels, and it should be held to a higher standard than a club membership alone can provide.

Why the Covenant

A covenant here means a commitment to show up, to sharpen one another, and to hold the line when it costs something. Benjamin built The Covenant around three pillars: Faith. Brotherhood. The Game.

The organization is national by design. From a base in West Orange, New Jersey, the New Jersey and New York metro chapter is already active, with weekend family rhythm and members’ gatherings. Founding cities in Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles plant as Chapter Captains step forward to recruit carefully and set culture from the ground up.

How he leads

Benjamin reviews membership personally. Applications are not processed by a funnel; they are read. The bar is high on purpose: senior operators, founders, partners, and executives who walk in Christian values and are prepared to give as much as they receive.

The scripture that anchors the Society is Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” That verse is the operating principle of the room Benjamin is building.

Underneath that principle is a conviction Benjamin will not soften: that Jesus Christ is Lord, that salvation is found in Him alone, and that a room built in His name welcomes every man of character who meets the bar. For most of a century, golf and its private clubs served as the boardroom outside the boardroom, and men of color were kept off the tee sheet by rule and by custom. The Covenant reads that history honestly and answers it with faith rather than resentment: all are welcome, and we especially value opening this home for the community of color, where dignity is assumed and Christ is the reason the doors stay open. What’s being built

The founding class carries a lifetime designation. An Annual Founder’s Tournament will gather members nationally. Local chapters host the regular rhythm of play, conversation, and accountability. The Covenant House Line puts the crest on the course: Society-owned apparel, embroidered to order and shipped automatically.

Transportation leadership

Samy Soliman serves as Vice President of Transportation and Physical Security. Part of membership dues supports Samy and his team (including Ramy) so members have exclusive, professional transit to and from Society events: safe arrival, quiet care, and dignity for the household.

As chapters expand across the country, the Society continues building their team and fleet so getting to the gathering stays simple and composed. See Meet the team or membership transportation.

The work continues: name the right Captains, admit the right men, and protect the standard.
