Covenant Golf Society™

FAQ

FAQ.

Eligibility, dues, chapters, guests, and apparel. If your question is not here, put it in your application or email after you apply.

Who is membership for?

Senior executives, founders, partners, and equivalent operators who lead with Christian faith and want a selective brotherhood built around golf. All who meet the bar are welcome. We especially value opening this home for the community of color. We look for C-suite, VP+, MD, Partner, Founder/CEO, or clear peer-level responsibility.

Is the Society invite-only?

Admission is selective and application-based. Referrals help. Personal vetting by the founder is required. Paying dues cannot skip review. Public membership checkout is closed until approval.

Can I just pay for membership?

No. You must complete the full five-stage application and receive personal approval first. If approved, Benjamin sends a private payment invitation. Apparel in the shop does not confer membership.

What does the application ask about faith?

More than a checkbox. We ask how you follow Jesus Christ today, how faith shapes leadership at work and home, your church or Christian community, and a real accountability story. Posing as a Christian to gain access is grounds for rejection.

What are the membership options?

Dues are real and significant, set on a private scale to your standing and what you steward, and confirmed after approval. Four paths: Founding Sponsor (lifetime sponsorship with equity considered, by arrangement), Lifetime Patron (one-time, nationally capped), Founding Member (one-time, limited per city), and Annual (renews yearly). Same character bar on every path; payment only after approval. Details: membership.

Do I have to live in a founding city?

Most members will affiliate with New Jersey, New York, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Dallas, or Los Angeles. New Jersey and New York are the active metro chapters. If you are outside those markets, select Other and tell us where you operate. Travel access across chapters is available to members in good standing.

How good does my golf need to be?

You should be serious about the game as craft and as a place to build trust. We are not a handicap police force, but we expect etiquette, readiness, and respect for pace of play.

Can I bring a guest?

Guests attend by invitation under Society guest policy: Chapter Captain approval for ordinary gatherings, Society board approval for esteemed dinners and private-club settings. Brief them on standards before the first tee. The room stays intentional. Do not treat gatherings as open networking events. See Society guest policy.

What is the Founder’s Tournament?

The annual national gathering for members. Competitive play, fellowship, and recognition of the founding class. Date and host city are announced as chapters come online. See events.

How are applications reviewed?

Benjamin Terry reviews every application personally. You receive a response. There is no automated funnel deciding culture fit.

Is apparel required?

No. The Covenant House Line is available to members and supporters who want to wear the mark. Shop at the store.

How is apparel made?

Every piece in the house line is embroidered with the Covenant crest to order, quality checked, and shipped with tracking, typically within 4 to 8 business days. Nothing sits in a warehouse losing its shape.

How do payments work?

Apparel checkout is open in the shop via Stripe. Membership payment opens only after approval through a private signed invitation link to the invite-pay page. Lifetime is one-time. Annual renews yearly. We email a branded confirmation with a PDF receipt. Annual members can manage billing on the membership billing section.

Where is the Society based?

Principal office: West Orange, New Jersey. New Jersey and New York are active; other founding cities plant as Captains step forward.

How do I become a Chapter Captain?

Captains are named, not self-appointed. Strong early members who demonstrate judgment, hospitality, and cultural fit may be invited. Mention interest in your application if relevant. Full role detail is on the Membership page.

Where do I apply?

Only at /apply. It is a multi-stage application, not a short contact form.

How do I reach you with a general question?

Email hello@covenantgolfsociety.com. Membership applications still go through /apply. Careers (Founding AE, Engineer, Customer Success, VP/Director, admin) go to info@covenantgolfsociety.com with the role in the subject. See /careers.

What if I want partnership, not membership?

Start on the Partners page or email hello@covenantgolfsociety.com with “Partnership” in the subject. Approved press logos are on the media kit; full brand guidelines are shared privately on request.

Are legal docs final?

Privacy, Terms, and Standards are live for site use at /legal. Membership agreements and other counsel drafts are not published on this site. Email info@covenantgolfsociety.com for counsel questions.
